Notes and payments

Recording a payment

You can record payments by hand on the free tier, with no limit on how many notes you track.

How a payment is applied

Each payment is allocated in a fixed order: outstanding fees, then late charges, then escrow, then accrued interest, then principal, and anything left over is held as a credit. That order comes from the note itself and is not adjusted per payment.

When a payment bounces

Reverse it rather than deleting it. Reversing writes an offsetting entry and leaves the original visible, which is what you want if the loan is ever examined. Deleting history is not something the platform allows.
