Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes
If you request a one-time sign-in link and open it later than that, it will not work. This is deliberate — an old link sitting in an inbox is a way into your account. Choose "Request a new link" on the error page and the next one arrives immediately.
Password requirements
Passwords must be at least 10 characters. You do not need one at all if you prefer to sign in with Google or with a one-time link.
Two-step verification
Two-step verification is optional while you are getting set up, and required before you move money. Turn it on any time under Settings, and save your recovery codes somewhere other than the phone running the authenticator app.
Two-step verification is not required to add a note
If you are stuck adding your first note, this is not the reason. See "I cannot add a note" instead.
