Your business profile, and what borrowers see
Every note you add is filed under a business profile. We create one for you at signup using your own name, so nothing blocks you on day one — but that name is a placeholder, and it matters more than it looks.
Why the name matters
You are the note holder, so you are the sender of everything your borrower receives. Your business profile name is the letterhead on statements, payment reminders, and year-end tax forms generated from your notes. ServeYourNote appears only as a small line noting the document was prepared through the platform.
If you hold notes through an LLC or a trust, set the profile name to that entity before you send anything to a borrower.
Changing it
- Open Settings in the sidebar.
- Find Business profile.
- Set the name exactly as you want borrowers to see it, and choose the entity type.
- Save. Documents generated from that point forward use the new name.
Documents already sent do not change
Renaming your profile does not alter statements a borrower has already received. Set the name before your first statement run if you can.
